How does the weight help them settle?

The front of the sack is gently weighted and quilted, so the weight spreads evenly across their chest and tummy. Lying in it feels like your hand resting on them — the same light pressure as being held, which is the thing they’ve been asking you for all night.

That’s why the transfer works: when you lay them down, the held feeling comes with them. And when they stir between sleep cycles, it’s still there, so they drift back off without you.

It does the holding, so your arms don’t have to.

How heavy is it?

Gently weighted — light enough that it simply feels cosy, spread through the quilting on the front so it never sits in one spot. The back is soft cotton, so they lie on the same thing they always have.

Think of a hand resting on them, not a blanket on top of them.

What size do I need?

One size, made for 0 to 9 months. It’s sleeveless with a roomy bottom, so their arms are free and their legs and hips can kick and move the way they like to. It zips over a bodysuit or a light sleepsuit.

One sack, the whole first nine months.

How do I use it at bedtime?

Bath, feed, sack on, lights down, white noise — then lay them on their back in the cot. Dress them for the room underneath: a short-sleeve bodysuit when it’s warm, long sleeves when it’s cooler. The sack replaces loose blankets, so the cot stays clear.

The zip going up becomes their signal that it’s sleep time.

Same routine you already do. One new step that tells them it’s bedtime.

Night changes and washing?

The two-way zip opens from the bottom, so a 2am nappy change happens without taking the whole sack off or waking them up properly. When it needs a wash, it goes in the machine on cold and gentle, then on the line.

That’s why most parents get two: one on, one in the wash.

We already have a sleeping bag. Why this one?

A regular sleeping bag keeps them warm. This one keeps them settled: the gentle weight across the front is the part that feels like being held, and that’s the part a plain bag can’t do.

It goes straight into the routine you already have, in place of the bag you’re using now.

Same bedtime. One difference.

Shipping, returns and who’s behind this?

Marlo Lane is run by parents, for parents. Every order ships free and tracked, and the tracking number lands in your inbox the day it’s on its way.

Returns: 30 nights to try it. If it isn’t for your baby, keep the sack and we’ll refund you, nothing to send back. Email us through the contact page — a real person answers, usually the same business day.

If anything at all is off, email. That’s the entire process.

This sleep sack has been an absolute game changer for our bedtime routine. My daughter settles so much faster now that we've been using it every single night.

4 reasons parents swear by it

It feels like being held.

The front is gently weighted and quilted, so the weight sits evenly across their chest and tummy. Lying in it feels like your hand resting on them, which is exactly what they’ve been asking for all night.

The transfer finally holds.

The moment you lay them down used to be the moment they woke. In the sack, the held feeling comes with them into the cot, so you can walk out of the room instead of back to the chair.

Babies asleep in the grey, mint and white sleep sacks, loved by 15,000+ happy families

Longer stretches, fewer 2am resettles.

Babies stir between sleep cycles all night. When they do, the gentle weight is still there, so they settle back on their own instead of calling for you.

Your evening comes back.

No arm going numb under them, no hour in the recliner, no driveway at 4am. They’re down, they stay down, and the evening is yours again.

Same bedtime. One difference.
