Try it for 30 days. If your bub won’t wear it, keep it and we’ll refund you. No forms. One email, and it’s done.
How does it actually work?
It’s a cotton mitten with a moulded silicone panel on the back, over the knuckles. You strap it on at the wrist. Bub brings a fist to the mouth — which at this age they’re doing all day anyway — and meets silicone instead of skin. Because nothing is being held, nothing can be let go of.
A ring teether needs grip and aim. A four-month-old has neither, which is why every ring you’ve bought so far has been one you held for them, or picked up off the floor.
It’s a teether they can’t put down, because they aren’t holding it.
Will it actually stay on?
Honest answer: most bubs at four to seven months pull it off once or twice on the first day and then forget it’s there. Tess in Penrith counted two pulls on night one, one on night two, none by day three. A stubborn few take a full week — Marni in Newcastle needed six days.
A crawler who wants both hands for grabbing things will fight it, and that’s the honest top of the age range. It’s a reason to buy it at four months, not a reason to skip it.
Give it a week before you decide. If it’s a no, keep it and we’ll refund you.
Is it safe in their mouth?
The chew panel is food-grade silicone — no BPA, no phthalates — and it’s moulded through the cotton rather than glued on, because glued silicone lifts once it’s wet. There are no sewn-on eyes, beads or bits. The crinkle layer is sealed inside the fabric. The strap is a flat band with a soft-backed hook side, so it can’t form a loop for a finger to catch in.
Daytime, supervised, never in the cot. Look at the panel edge and the seams before each wear, and stop using it if anything lifts.
Do the pull test yourself: tug hard on the silicone edge after every wash. Mums in the reviews do, and it holds.
What age is it for — and when is it too late?
Roughly 3 to 12 months. It’s loosest on the very smallest wrists — the strap pulls in far enough for a small four-month-old, but a tiny three-month-old may need a few more weeks. The front teeth run from about six months to over a year, so most bubs get five or six months out of a pair.
The window closes when they crack the velcro, usually somewhere around nine to eleven months, and it becomes a game. Every review that says “I bought it too late” bought it at ten or eleven months.
Buy it the week they find their hands, not the week the teeth arrive.
Is it even teething, or just the hand-chewing stage?
Could be either, and it’s normal both ways. Around two to four months a baby discovers their hands and they go straight in the mouth — that’s exploring and self-settling, not a tooth. The harder, more driven chewing usually ramps up from four to seven months, when the first teeth are on the way. Nobody can tell you which one it is at 11pm, including Google.
We’re not stopping the chewing. It’s meant to happen. We’re giving it somewhere clean to land that isn’t their own knuckles.
It doesn’t matter which. This is what they’re going to chew.
Won’t it get soaked and start to smell?
It will get wet — catching the drool is half the job. A heavy drooler soaks one by early afternoon. The fix is the second mitten: swap at lunch, wash the wet one, hang it silicone-side up. In a Ballarat winter with no dryer a washed one takes the better part of two days on the rack, which is why two is the minimum and four is the comfortable number.
Smell only happens when one is put away damp. Dry it fully before it goes in the drawer and it won’t.
One on, one drying — that’s why it comes as a pair.
How do I wash it?
Cold machine wash in a delicates bag (the velcro will attach itself to every muslin you own otherwise), then air dry. No tumble dryer, no steriliser, no freezer. Wash it after use or at least daily, and check the silicone edge when you hang it out.
It goes in with the muslins. That’s the whole routine.
Why not the $2 Kmart teether, or the Amazon two-pack?
The Kmart one is fine. It’s also the one under the passenger seat of your car right now, because a five-month-old can’t hold anything and gravity does the rest. That’s the whole difference: this one is attached.
There is a cheaper mitten two-pack on Amazon, and we’d rather tell you than have you find it later. Here’s what $29.95 buys instead: free tracked shipping, Australia-wide; our own photos of the actual product; a printed care card; a silicone panel we pull-test after ten washes; and 30 days to change your mind where you keep the mittens and get the money back.
Two of ours cost less than two of the branded one at the baby shop.
Shipping, returns and who’s behind this?
Marlo Lane is an Australian-owned store. Every order ships free and tracked, Australia-wide, and the tracking number lands in your inbox the moment it’s on its way. The mittens are made to our spec in China, like nearly all silicone baby goods.
Returns: 30 days, keep the mittens, full refund, no return postage. Email us through the contact page — a real person answers, usually the same business day.
If anything at all is off, email. That’s the entire process.

4 reasons parents call this a lifesaver
🙌
Nothing to pick up. Not once, all day.
It straps on at the wrist, so nothing is held and nothing can be dropped. Bub brings a fist to the mouth the way they already do all day, and meets silicone. Nothing to pass back, nothing under the pram.
🦷
Their knuckles stop being the teether.
A moulded food-grade silicone panel sits over the back of the hand, right where the fist lands. The chewing happens on ridges and nubs instead of raw, chapped skin, and the cotton underneath catches the drool before it runs down the sleeve.
👶
Works months before a ring teether can.
From about three months a baby can get a fist to their mouth, but the grip to hold a ring there is months away. That’s why every teether so far was one you held for them. This one uses the move they already make.
🛒
Survives Woolies, the car seat and the wash.
Strap it on over the sleeve and it goes wherever the pram goes. When it’s soaked, a cold wash in a delicates bag and a spot by the window bring it back. It comes as a pair, so there’s always a dry one.

The first morning I didn't pick anything up off the floor
That's the whole review really. Walked to the shops, did a full loop of Woolies, came home, and at no point did I bend down under the pram. I noticed it in the cereal aisle and actually laughed out loud like an idiot. Bub is 7 months and he chewed that thing the entire way round.

Four weeks on and my pram still has nothing in the footwell
I used to be able to tell you what was in the footwell of my pram at any moment: a teether, a sock, and a rice cake. It's empty now. I take one photo of it every so often like a lunatic because I still can't quite believe it. Four weeks.

I got the photo. That's why this is five stars.
Every photo of him for two months had a fist jammed in his mouth. I have hundreds of them. Went to the botanical gardens on Sunday with a glove on him and got an actual photo of my son's face, smiling, both hands out of his mouth because he was busy chewing something else. It's on the fridge. Ridiculous thing to be emotional about and I don't care.

Nanna's house has its own pair now
I have my granddaughter two days a week while my daughter's at work and I am not as quick off the floor as I used to be. Bought the four pack — two live here, two live at theirs — so there's no forgetting them in the nappy bag. She's 7 months and goes at that silicone bit like it owes her money. Best practical present I've bought since the baby medicine box.

Washed them twenty times and the silicone hasn't budged
I want to say this specifically because it's what I'd want to know. I've had these since June and I have washed them at least twenty times, cold cycle in a delicates bag, air dried. The silicone panel is still solidly attached — I actually pull on the edge of it every few washes because I'm paranoid about bits coming off in his mouth. No lifting, no gap, no fraying at the join. Fabric's gone a bit soft but that's it.

From five outfit changes a day to two
The drool was running down his wrist into the sleeve of every Wondersuit he owns and I was doing a load of washing every single day. The fabric on these soaks most of it up before it gets past his hand. I'm down to two changes most days, sometimes one. In a house with one washing machine and no dryer in winter, that's a genuinely big deal and nobody ever mentions it in the ads.

I was 100% certain this was another dropship scam
I reverse image searched the photos before I paid, because I've been burnt. They came back to this store and nowhere else, which is the first time that's ever happened for me with an Instagram ad. Ordered Tuesday, arrived Thursday, in an actual box with a care card that tells you it's made in China and says so plainly. That honesty is why I'm writing this. The gloves are good. The not-lying is better.

He's too little to hold a teether. Nobody told me that.
We had four teethers in the drawer and every single one of them was a teether I had to hold against his gums. He's 4 months. He can get his fist to his mouth but he cannot hold anything there for more than three seconds, so the whole thing was me, kneeling next to the bouncer, holding a giraffe. Strapping it to his hand was so obvious once I saw it that I was almost annoyed. He does it himself now. I don't do anything.

With my first I picked it up off the floor. With my second I bought these.
Second baby, 5 months old. With my first I spent a year bent over picking up teething rings in cafés and I genuinely thought that was just what having a baby was. I saw these in an ad and bought them before she'd even started chewing properly, which is not something first-time me would ever have done. Best thirty dollars of this baby so far. If you're on your second, you already know why this works.

The $2 Kmart teether is under the passenger seat of my car
I've bought three of the Kmart ones and I know exactly where none of them are. That's not a dig at Kmart, they're two dollars and they're fine, the problem is a five-month-old can't hold anything and gravity does the rest. These are strapped on. That is the entire difference and it's worth the money to me. I still have the Kmart ones somewhere. Under the seat, probably.

Was scared they'd be soaked and stink. The second one is the answer.
This was my actual worry, because I've had a wooden teether go black and a fabric book that smelled like a pond. What works is having two. One's on her hand, one's on the drying rack by the window, and they swap over after lunch. Six weeks in, no smell, no discolouring, and I've washed them probably fifteen times. If you only had one of these I reckon you'd have a problem by week two.

It wasn't the teething. It was the teething on top of everything else.
Daycare bug, four month regression, and then the teeth came. Any one of those I could have handled. All three in the same fortnight and I was sitting on the laundry floor at 5am. I'm not going to say a glove fixed that week because it didn't. What it did was take one specific maddening thing off the pile — the constant chewing on his own hand and me constantly fetching something for him to chew instead. One less thing that week was worth a lot more than thirty dollars.

Wish there were more colours
Blue, green or pink and that's your lot. Mine came as one blue and one green and they're fine, but the polka dot print is a bit dated and I'd have paid the same for something plainer or a nicer pattern. Product works, I'm keeping them, just don't expect anything stylish. My sister said they look like something from 2011 and she's not wrong.

Tracked the whole way to regional WA. I nearly fell over.
I am used to ordering anything off a social ad and waiting four weeks for a cellophane bag with a manual in another language. These turned up out here faster than anything I've ever ordered off an ad, tracked the whole way, in branded packaging with a proper card. That's the reason I'll buy from you again, more than the product.

Four months of holding a teether for him. Four months.
I worked out the other day that I had spent four months as a piece of baby equipment. Sitting on the floor holding a cold ring against a gum while he thrashed around. Then you put it in his mouth and he drops it, and you pick it up, and you wash it, and you start again. He's 8 months now and he does the whole thing himself with these on. I got both hands back. I don't think people understand what that means until they've lost them.

I drank a coffee sitting down
Sat at the kitchen table, put her in the high chair with one of these on, and drank a whole flat white while it was still hot. She chewed and crinkled the thing for about twenty minutes and I did nothing. First time in about five months. I texted my sister about it which tells you where the bar is.

I wish I'd bought them two months earlier
That's it, that's the review. I saw the ad in March, thought "he's fine, he's only four months", and spent the next eight weeks holding things against his mouth and picking things off the floor of the car. Bought them in May and they were on his hands within an hour of the box arriving. Two months I didn't need to have. I'm telling you so you don't do it.

My mum said "in my day we gave them a carrot"
She did say it, at my kitchen table, while my 6 month old was gnawing on his own knuckles until they were pink. I didn't argue. I just put the glove on him and let her watch him go at it for twenty minutes without me touching him once. She asked where I got them and has since bought a pair for my cousin. Sorry Mum.

Eight hours in the car to Dubbo and nothing hit the floor
We do this drive four times a year and the worst part has always been the arm. You know the arm — reaching back blind into the capsule at 110 on the highway trying to find a teether by feel while your partner tells you to leave it. Put these on before we left Sydney. Didn't reach back once in either direction. That alone paid for them.

I read the bit about frozen teethers and stopped doing it
I'd been putting his teething rings in the freezer, not the fridge, because that's what my mothers' group all do. Your page was the first place I read that solid-frozen ones are too hard and can hurt their gums, with actual sources. I checked it myself because I check everything. You were right and half my group was wrong. Bought the pair off the back of that, and they've been the thing he actually uses.

Three weeks of "is he chewing his hands because he's hungry?"
I was up at 11pm googling "baby chewing hands 4 months" and getting nine different answers, feeding him constantly in case that was it, and feeling like an idiot. Your page was the only one that just said it might be teething, it might be the stage where they find their hands, and either way this is what he's going to chew. That was such a relief to read. He's 5 months now, wears one most of the day, and I've stopped diagnosing him.

Twins. Four gloves. Genuinely the best money I've spent this year.
With twins you don't have enough hands to hold one teether let alone two, and when one drops something the other one starts up, and then you're on the floor of the shopping centre with a double pram trying not to cry. I bought the six pack. Two on, two in the wash, two in the car. They're 6 months. It is the first thing I've bought since they were born that actually reduced the number of jobs instead of adding one.

Thirty days to decide was the only reason I clicked buy
I have a drawer. Everyone has the drawer. Mine's got a water ring, a wooden one, a silicone banana, a tube of Bonjela and about forty dollars of things that got used twice. So no, I wasn't going to just take a punt on another one. Thirty days and keep it if it doesn't work meant the worst case was I'd wasted nothing. That's the only reason you got my money and now you've got my review too.

Dropped in a café, handed back by a stranger, straight in his mouth
That's the bit nobody says out loud. It's not that the teether hits the floor, it's that it's now been on the floor of a café and you've got nothing to clean it with and he is screaming for it. So you give it back to him anyway and feel like a terrible mother, or you don't and he screams. These just removed that whole decision from my life. Nothing touches the ground. There's no judgement call to make.

He chewed the pram straps raw. Now he chews this.
Every walk was him bent double gnawing on the pram harness, which is disgusting and also not something you can wash easily. He's 6 months and a full-time chewer. Put one of these on before we go out now and he goes for that instead because it's right there where his mouth already goes. Straps have stayed clean for a month.

Great until she learned to work velcro
Excellent from five months to about nine and a half. Then she cracked the velcro and now it's a game — on, off, throw, repeat. That's a developmental milestone, not a product fault, but it does mean the useful window closed earlier than I'd hoped. Get them at four or five months rather than eight and you'll get your money's worth.

I'm an early childhood educator and I've told four families
I work in the babies' room and the hand-chewing stage is relentless — you've got six of them going at their own fists and you're sterilising teethers all day. I bought a pair for my own 5 month old at home and then told four of my families about them. Two have bought. The practical thing is that they stay attached, so you're not chasing a teether around a room of crawling babies. That's the whole appeal for me.

Velcro baby, dummy refuser, hated the bouncer, hated the playmat, hated anything I bought with hope in my heart. I honestly ordered these expecting to use the refund. I have five baby items and this is one of them
I am extremely anti baby gadget. We don't have a bouncer, we don't have a monitor, I have refused every "must have" list for two babies. What got me is that this isn't a gadget, it's a mitten with silicone on it, and the reason it works is just that it's attached. There's no app, no batteries, no theory. It does one thing. That's why it's still in rotation eight weeks later and the rest of it went on Marketplace.

I'd tied his teethers to a ribbon. This is what I was actually reaching for.
I had a system. Ribbon, clipped to the pram, three teethers tied along it. It was infuriating — the ribbon tangled, I had to untie things to give them to him properly, and half the time the whole lot went over the side anyway. When I saw a glove that straps onto the hand I felt genuinely stupid, in a good way. That's what I'd been trying to build out of ribbon for two months.

The cotton went bobbly after about fifteen washes
Silicone is still rock solid, which is the part that matters and I do check it. But the cotton on the palm side has gone bobbly and a bit grey. Cosmetic, doesn't affect use, and it's had a hard life. I priced it against what I'm already paying for this baby, which is the only way I can make a decision anymore. One day of long day care is $144 before subsidy. Two people at playgroup told me to get an amber necklace. I went looking, found the Queensland uni study saying the succinic acid doesn't actually come out of the beads, and then found the ACCC warning about the choking risk, and that was that. Ended up here instead. It's a thing he chews, attached to his hand, and it can't come apart around his neck. Sometimes the boring option is the right one.

Between the omeprazole, the bottles, the burping and the carrying, my hands are never free. Tiny thing. You're told to machine wash them and I put them in a delicates bag so the velcro doesn't attach itself to everything I own, which it absolutely will. A cheap mesh bag in the box would cost them nothing and save a lot of people a ruined muslin. Otherwise no complaints at all.

I want to be careful how I say this because I'm not a doctor. We still use Panadol when she's genuinely miserable overnight and I'd never suggest otherwise. What changed is the afternoons — the low-grade grizzly chewing where I used to reach for the bottle on the bench because I didn't know what else to do. There is a gap between them being able to reach their mouth and being able to hold something there, and nobody tells you about it, and that gap is exactly where this sits. She's in charge of it. I'm not involved. It's very strange to buy a baby product that makes you less necessary.

Works at home, not so much at the shops
Bit of a strange one. At home and in the car he's happy with it on. At the shops he wants his hands free to grab at everything on the shelves and gets frustrated, so it comes off. So I've got about seventy percent of the benefit I was expecting rather than a hundred. Still worth the money, still use it every day, just not the clean sweep I'd hoped for.

I asked in Kmart Mums and got told to buy these
Posted in one of the big groups asking what people used for a baby who won't stop chewing his hands and got about thirty replies. Five different people said teething gloves. I'd never heard of them. Bought them that night, they turned up Thursday. He's 5 months and it's the first thing I've bought off a group recommendation that's actually worked.

Both hands free for the first time in eleven weeks
Contact-nap baby, chews everything, and I had accepted that I'd be operating with one hand until he was about two. Put one of these on him in the carrier and he worked away at it while I hung the washing out. Both hands. Pegs and everything. I know how that sounds. If you're where I was, you know exactly how that sounds.

The ad was the first one that didn't say "soothes teething pain"
Every teething ad I've been served promises to relieve pain and I switch off, because they all say it and none of them can prove it. Yours said it can't hit the floor. That's a thing I could check. It also happens to be the thing that was actually ruining my days. Bought on the spot. Turns out I don't want a miracle, I want an accurate description.

Nine months in and I've finally bought something that isn't in the cupboard
Wasted money so far: a white noise machine he ignores, two sleeping bags in the wrong tog, a bottle steriliser I used for a fortnight, a $60 wooden teether that is currently under the couch. Money well spent: these, and a change mat you wipe instead of wash. That's the list. It took me nine months to get two things on the right side of it.

Daycare send them home in the bag every day
I send one in his bag with his name on the strap in laundry marker. The educators love them because he's not putting a shared teether in his mouth and they're not chasing it under the cots. They come home in the wet bag, get washed, and the spare goes in the next morning. If you're about to start daycare, get the four pack, because one lives in the bag and never comes back the day you need it.

I photographed his hands in January. Looked back last week.
I took photos because the GP asked me to keep an eye on the broken skin at the base of his thumb. Six weeks of wearing these and I pulled up the January photo next to his hand now and honestly couldn't believe I'd let it get that bad. The chewing didn't stop, he's still at it constantly, it just lands somewhere other than his skin now.

I bought them for an 11 month old who was already crawling and grabbing and he hated them, and then bought a second pair for my friend's 4 month old who loves them. Third pair. One for the car, one for the bag, one for home.
I'm now that person who buys three of something. The logic is simple — the ones you forget are the ones you need. Car glovebox, nappy bag, kitchen drawer. Never caught out, never a day where they're all in the wash. If I'd worked this out in month one I'd have just bought the six pack and saved myself two lots of postage.

Standard procedure now: see ad, ignore ad, go find the About page, look for an actual address and an ABN and a human being. Yours had all three and a photo of people who look like they exist. Then I went back and bought the thing. I know that's backwards but that's genuinely the order it happened in, and I'd guess I'm not the only one.

My 4 month old, corrected. Fits fine.
He was 6 weeks early so he's small for his age and I was worried the strap wouldn't pull in tight enough. It does — there's a decent amount of adjustment in it and it sits snug on a little wrist without leaving a mark. Worth saying for anyone with a smaller bub who's wondering, because that was the only thing stopping me ordering.

I didn't expect the crinkle to matter. It's half the reason it works.
I thought the crinkly bit was just a gimmick to justify the price. It's actually the thing that keeps her interested past the first two minutes — she chews, it makes a noise, she squeezes it, it makes a noise, and around and around for twenty minutes. A plain teether has never held her that long. I'm not going to tell you it's educational or whatever, it just keeps her busy.

Winter, long sleeves, and it still goes on over the top
It's freezing here and he lives in fleecy Wondersuits from April to September. The strap has enough give to go over a sleeve without being tight, which I honestly didn't think about before ordering and then worried about after. Fine. Goes on over the cuff, comes off easily, no wrestling.

I asked whether they could be sterilised because I'm a bit precious about it, and got a proper reply from a person with a name, telling me what to do and what not to do. Works for one twin, not the other
Identical twins, same age, same everything. One wears it all day and is delighted. The other one screams the second it goes on and has done for three weeks. I don't know what to tell you and I don't think it's a fault, but if you're buying on the assumption it'll suit your baby, it might not, and I'd have appreciated hearing that more clearly before I paid. Three stars is an average of five and one.

She's 10 months and still wearing it, which surprised me
Everything I read said the older ones pull them off, so I bought expecting a couple of months' use. She's 10 months, crawling, into everything, and still happily wears one in the pram and the car. Not so much on the floor at home because she wants her hands, which is fair enough. If I'd known I'd get five months out of a thirty dollar thing I'd have bought them at four months instead of six.

No teeth, no drooling, no fussing — she has just discovered that she has hands and they go in the mouth, constantly, all day. I don't think she's teething at all yet. Doesn't matter. I had one of those silicone necklaces you wear and he'd haul on it until my neck was red, then drop it down my top, then scream. I'll be careful here because I see a lot of nonsense marketed at teething and most of it I wouldn't touch. This isn't making a claim I have a problem with — it's a clean chew surface, it's attached, and there's nothing on it to come off in a mouth. That's it, and that's fine. My own 7 month old wears one most days and it's the only teething thing in my house I didn't bin.

Genuinely great for three weeks. He chewed it constantly and I got a lot of my afternoons back. Then he just stopped being interested, the same way he does with everything, and now it sits in the drawer. Maybe he'll come back to it when the next tooth comes. Nobody designs baby products for a mother with a bad back. The constant bending to retrieve things off the floor was the single worst part of my day and by 4pm I could barely stand up straight. It got him through the four month regression without me losing it
Regression hit, teeth started, and the two of them together nearly finished me. I'm not going to pretend a glove fixed the regression. What it did was hold his attention in the stretch between 4 and 6pm when I'm cooking and he's melting down and I've got nothing left. Twenty minutes of chewing and crinkling. That was the difference between me coping and not.

Does what it says. Stays on, he chews it, it doesn't hit the floor. I just don't have the feelings about it that the other reviews here seem to. Finally something that doesn't need to be frozen, boiled or charged
The water-filled ring has to live in the fridge, the wooden one needs oiling, the silicone one I boiled and it went cloudy. This gets thrown in the wash with the muslins and hung on the rack. In a house where I'm already behind on everything, the maintenance cost of a baby product is a real thing and this one has almost none.

Woke up to him gnawing on the top rail of the cot like a beaver and found little bits of paint in his mouth. Horrifying. Everyone will tell you six is overkill. It's not, if you're honest about how often you actually get the washing done. Two in use, two drying, two clean in the drawer means there is always one available, which is the entire point of the product. I went up a tier on a whim and it's the reason it's still working for us four months later.

Sheets, muslins, the corner of her sleeping bag, the strap on the high chair. Everything in this house had a wet chewed patch on it. It stopped me feeling like I was failing at a very stupid thing
This is going to sound out of proportion for a mitten. I had convinced myself that the reason my baby was miserable was that I wasn't good enough at soothing him, because everyone else's teethers seemed to work and mine just ended up on the floor. He's got it on and he's chewing, but he's chewing the cotton bit at the side of his hand rather than the silicone panel on top. Two teeth through and we've barely noticed the second one
First tooth was a horror show — three days of a baby who would not be put down. Second one came through last week and honestly I only found it because I felt it while she was chewing on the glove. Not a game changer. Just one less thing. Which is what I wanted.
I am so tired of products that promise to change my life. This one took one repetitive, annoying, all-day job off my list and left the other fourteen exactly where they were. Yellow-brown drool stains on every sleeve. Not anymore.
The cuffs of everything he owns had gone stiff and yellowish from constant drool and no amount of Napisan was fixing it. The fabric on these takes most of it before it gets to the sleeve. The velcro's fine but it loosens over an hour or so of a baby waving his arms around and works its way down towards his fingers, so I'm adjusting it three or four times a day. Not the end of the world. But "put it on and forget about it" hasn't been my experience and that's how it's sold.

She sleeps better in the afternoons and I'll take the credit
Won't overstate this because I know there are ten reasons a baby naps badly. But the afternoon nap used to fall apart with her chewing her hands and grizzling herself awake, and since she's had something to chew going into it, she's been settling in the cot a lot faster. Glove comes off before she actually goes down, obviously. The wind-down is where it helps.

My first baby wouldn't wear it at 11 months, which is on me, she was too old. Emailed them, got a refund in two days, kept the gloves as they said I could. Honest review: it did not stop him teething
Five stars anyway, and here's why. It was never going to stop him teething. Teeth come through, that's it, nothing on this earth prevents it. What it did was stop the forty-times-a-day retrieval and stop his knuckles being raw, both of which were things I could actually change. I rate a product on whether it does what it said. This did exactly what it said and not one thing more.

My 5 month old, who hates being restrained, is fine with it
She fights the pram straps, the swaddle, the car seat, the high chair. Anything on her body is a war. I fully expected this to go the same way and it didn't, because it's soft and there's a payoff at the end of it — she gets to chew. I think that's the difference. It isn't restricting her, it's giving her something.

I cried in the Coles carpark and ordered these in the car
Full shop, screaming baby, teether went under the trolley twice and then into a puddle, and I sat in the car afterwards and had a proper cry. Then I got my phone out and found these. I'm not saying a mitten fixed my mental health. I'm saying that was the last shop I did like that, and the shops since have been fine.

It came with a card that told me how to wash it properly
Which sounds like nothing but every other fabric baby thing I own came with either no instructions or instructions in a language I can't read. Wash after use, dry it completely before you put it away, check it for tears before you use it. Followed it, three months in, no smell, no mould, no problems. The stuff that goes wrong with these products is mostly people not being told.

Four months of Googling "when does teething get better" and this is the only thing I bought
I've read so many forum threads at 2am about this. Everyone says the same three things: chilled teether, clean finger on the gum, it'll pass. All true and all useless when he can't hold the teether and my finger is attached to a body that needs to do other things. This was the first practical suggestion I'd found in four months of looking.

Bought during a 40 minute drive of screaming. Arrived Thursday. Fixed the drive.
Pulled over on the Western Freeway because I couldn't hear myself think, got him settled with a teether, drove three minutes, teether on the floor, screaming again. Ordered from the side of the road, essentially. Now the glove goes on in the driveway and the drive is a drive. It's a 40 minute trip to my mum's and I do it twice a week.

I have a sensory seeker and this is the first thing he's stuck with
He's 8 months and everything goes in the mouth, hard and constantly, and I've been told by more than one person that it's "just a phase" in a tone I've learned to recognise. This gives him a few different textures and hardnesses on one thing, which is what he actually wants — he moves between the ridged bit and the nubby bit. Nobody has made me feel like there's something wrong with him for needing it, which is a low bar that a lot of products fail.

Bought two pairs — one for me, one for my sister-in-law, and we compare notes
Our babies are five weeks apart. Hers took to it instantly, mine took four days of pulling it off. Both wear them now. Worth knowing that the first few days aren't necessarily smooth and it doesn't mean it won't work — I nearly gave up on day two and I'm glad I didn't.

I went looking for the bad reviews first. There are some. Read them.
I always sort by lowest rating. The complaints here are basically: older babies pull them off, and they take a while to dry. Both of those are true, both of them are on the product page already, and neither applies to a 5 month old with two of them in rotation. A store that leaves those up is a store I'll buy from. I bought.

From "I'll hold it" to "he's got it" in one afternoon
That's genuinely the shift. I used to hear myself say "I'll hold it, mate" forty times a day. Now I don't say it at all, because he's got it, it's on his hand. It's a strange feeling to have a job removed from your day when nobody removed it, you just bought a mitten.

Second time buyer. Bought the six pack this round.
Had two with my first, which was fine but meant a couple of days where both were damp. Third baby now and I went straight to six without thinking about it. That tells you everything about whether they worked the first time. Two in the car, two in the bag, two in the house.

The thing I keep coming back to is that it can't be thrown
She's entered the throwing phase early. Everything gets launched — food, cups, toys, the remote. The one thing she cannot throw is the thing strapped to her hand, and she has tried. Watching her attempt to throw her own hand is honestly the funniest thing in my week.

Read the whole page and couldn't find a single American word
This is going to sound petty but it's how I decide. If a site says pacifier or stroller or diaper I close the tab, because it means whoever wrote it has never been in an Australian chemist. Yours says dummy and pram and nappy and Panadol, and the shipping page names an actual Australian city. Small thing. Decided it.

I bought them for the drop and they solved the bib problem too
He was going through four bibs a day just from the hand-chewing drool. The mitten catches a lot of that at the source, so now it's one or two bibs. Less washing, and I've stopped buying bibs every time I'm at Kmart. Unexpected but I'll take it.

The one thing we packed for the hospital stay
Three nights in hospital with a 7 month old on a drip, one arm in a splint, teething on top of everything else, and no space in the cot for toys that fall out through the bars. The glove went on the free hand and stayed there. Not the review I expected to write but it's the most useful thing I had with me that week.

My baby wasn't the problem and neither was I
I'd spent two months thinking I was rubbish at soothing him and he was a difficult baby, and it turns out a four-month-old physically cannot hold a teether to his own gums for more than a few seconds. Nobody had told me that. Not the health nurse, not the internet, not my mother. Once I knew it, the fix was obvious and cost thirty dollars. I'm still a bit cross about the two months.

If you're reading reviews at 2am like I was: just buy them
I read every review on this page at 2am with a baby chewing his fist on my shoulder, trying to decide whether thirty dollars was justifiable. It was. They came Wednesday, he wore one Wednesday afternoon, and by Friday I'd stopped noticing the thing that had been driving me mad for six weeks. Go to bed.

I counted. Eleven times just getting to the car.
I started counting because I thought I was being dramatic about it. Eleven pick-ups between the front door and the car seat, and that was a good morning. Bub is 6 months and has one bottom tooth through. First day with these on I got all the way to daycare and back without bending down once. I know that sounds like nothing. It is not nothing when you're doing it forty times a day.

His knuckles were red raw and I thought it was eczema
I had him at the GP over it. She said it was just chewing and drool and to keep it dry, which is easy to say when he had his whole fist in his mouth from 6am. The skin across his knuckles was broken in two spots. Put these on at 7 months and the chewing lands on the silicone instead of his hand. Ten days later the skin had settled right down. It's not magic, it's just a barrier, but it's the barrier I couldn't work out how to make myself.

Found the Amazon 2-pack. Bought these anyway. Here's why.
I did the thing I always do, which is find the cheap version on Amazon and sit on the decision for four days. The cheap 2-pack is real and it's about twelve bucks. What decided me was the thirty-day keep-it return, because I've got a baby who's rejected literally every soothing thing we've bought and I wasn't wearing the risk again. She took to them in two days so I never used the return. But I wouldn't have ordered without it, and I think that's worth saying.

My husband said it was thirty dollars for a sock. He's stopped saying that.
He did the maths out loud at the kitchen bench, as men do. Two weeks later he's the one who packs them in the nappy bag before we go anywhere, because he was the one doing the Bunnings trip where the teether went in the carpark twice. He hasn't apologised but he did say "yeah, they're alright". That's basically a Nobel prize in this house.

She pulled it off twice and then forgot about it
Everyone's number one question so here's the honest answer. Night one she pulled it off twice within about a minute and I thought, thirty dollars well spent. Night two, once. By the third day she wasn't going near the strap, she was just chewing the end of it like it was part of her. She's 5 months. I'd say if your bub is already crawling and grabbing at everything you might get more of a fight, but at this age it was three wears and done.

I didn't need convincing, I needed permission
I'd known about these for weeks and kept not buying them because it felt indulgent to spend thirty dollars on a problem that everyone keeps telling me is normal and temporary. The line on your page about being allowed to fix the small maddening thing even when the big thing is just a phase is the reason I finally did. It is allowed. I wish someone had told me that about several other things too.

Brilliant, but the drying time is real
Does everything it says. My only gripe is that in a Ballarat winter with no dryer, a washed one takes the better part of two days on the rack, and the silicone side means you can't turn it inside out to speed it up. Two is genuinely the minimum, not an upsell. If they did a four pack for a bit less I'd have gone that way from the start. Four stars, and the fifth one is drying on my rack.

Took a full week for her to accept it
Days one to four she pulled it straight off and I was ready to use the refund. I persisted because I'd paid for it, and by about day six she'd stopped noticing it. Now she wears it happily. Four stars rather than five because the page makes it sound like most babies accept it in a couple of wears and mine definitely didn't — I'd say give it a full week before you decide.
21 June 2026KRKate R.Wodonga, VICVerified buyer
Should have bought four, not two
Two works if you're organised. I am not organised. There have been at least six days where both were in the wash basket and he went without, which rather defeats the purpose. Ordered two more last week. Four stars only because I feel like the page could be more upfront that two is the bare minimum for a serious chewer, not the comfortable amount.

The drying is a bigger deal than they let on
By about 2pm the one he's wearing is genuinely wet through — he's a heavy drooler — and the spare takes a day and a half to dry properly in winter. So there's a stretch most afternoons where he's got nothing, which is when I need it most. Two isn't enough for a baby like mine and I think the page should say four for heavy droolers rather than making two the default.

Soaked through in under an hour, every time
Up here in the wet season everything is damp anyway and this thing is sodden within forty minutes of going on. I'm swapping them over three times a day, which means both are always in the wash, which means the whole system falls over. Maybe it works in Melbourne. It does not work in a Cairns summer with a baby who drools like a tap.

Too big for my 3 month old even on the tightest setting
She's small for three months and at the tightest the strap still slid down her forearm within a minute and ended up around her elbow. The page says from three months and I'd say that's optimistic unless your baby is a big one. Putting it away until she's five or six months and I'll update then, but I've paid for something I can't use yet.

The velcro grabs everything
It has attached itself to: two muslins, my jumper, a knitted blanket from his great-grandmother which now has a pulled thread in it, and his own hair. That last one produced a genuinely awful two minutes. The soft backing on the hook side isn't enough. I know that's a small design thing but it's the reason it's not on his hand most days.

Found the same one on Amazon for twelve dollars two days later
Two-pack, four thousand reviews, twelve bucks. Mine's a nicer box and it came faster and the return policy is better, I'll give them that, and the silicone does feel a bit sturdier. But I'm sitting here having paid two and a half times the price for a product I could have had for twelve dollars and I can't unsee it. Two stars is about the value, not the object.

Thought I was buying two pairs. Got two gloves.
"Buy one get one free" read to me as two sets. It's two single gloves, one for each hand, which I suppose is what a pair is, but I'd budgeted for four and I've got two. That's on the wording, not on me. Gloves themselves are fine. Docked stars for the confusion because I genuinely sat there for a minute with the box open trying to work out if something was missing.

Off in four seconds. Every single time.
Eleven months old. Put it on, he has it off with his teeth in about four seconds, and then he's chewing the strap and I'm taking it off him because I don't want him chewing velcro. Tried it eight or nine days in a row and gave up. I did get the refund without any argument, which is the only reason this isn't a nastier review. Do not buy this for an older baby.

She wants absolutely nothing to do with it
No interest. None. She screams when it goes on and pulls at it until it's off, and she's done that consistently for two weeks. She's 6 months and she chews everything else in this house, so I don't know what the difference is. I wanted this to work really badly and it just hasn't, and I'm tired of buying things and hoping.

It started to smell after about a fortnight
Sour, like a gym bag. I'll admit I probably put it away damp more than once because that is the standard of my life at the moment, but I've got plenty of other fabric things for her that don't do this. Washed it twice on hot and the smell came back both times. Binned them.

The edge of the silicone lifted and that was it for me
After about ten washes I noticed the corner of the silicone panel had lifted away from the fabric, maybe five millimetres, enough to get a fingernail under. On a thing that lives in a baby's mouth that is an absolute no from me. To their credit they replaced both immediately and asked me to post the old one back at their cost so they could look at it, and the replacements have been fine for a month. But I'm rating what I got, and what I got was a loose edge.

Not what I thought I was buying
I wanted something to stop my son sucking his thumb and this is the opposite of that — it's designed to encourage chewing. That's my mistake for not reading properly, but the ads for these things are all mixed up together online and I don't think I'm the only one who's ended up confused. One star because it's not the product I needed, not because it's a bad product.
